2025 Board Elections
Manitoba Canola Growers hold an election every two years seeking members to stand for the board of directors. Four positions were up for election in 2025, each holding a four-year term.
At the closing date of November 30, 2025 there were three nomination forms submitted which have been accepted by the Returning Officer from Avenue 4 Communications.
The following three farmers have been re-elected to the board:
- Jackie Dudgeon-MacDonald – Darlingford, MB
- Jay Derkach – Russell, MB
- Warren Ellis – Wawanesa, MB
Directors will start their term and a reorganizational meeting will be held to elect a new executive following Manitoba Canola Growers Annual General Meeting February 12, 2025.
After 12 years of dedicated service, Chuck Fossay has completed his final term on the board. We thank Chuck for his deep knowledge, steady leadership, and meaningful contributions across multiple committees and executive roles.
The fourth board position will be taken under advisement of the board of directors who will consider the options to fill the vacant seat.
About the Board Appointment Process
The board appointment process is designed to be open, transparent, and accessible to members who wish to contribute to the leadership and strategic direction of the association. This process follows a format similar to a hiring process and includes:
- Online application submission
- Shortlisting of qualified applicants
- Interviews with selected candidates
- Board selection of the successful appointee
The individual selected will join the board of directors for the 2026 term alongside the returning directors for a four year term.

Application Deadline: January 30,2026
Once the application period closes, shortlisted applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview. Interviews will take place the week of February 16-20, 2026. The board will make a final decision following the interview process.
Who Should Apply?
We encourage applications from individuals who:
- Are members of the Manitoba Canola Growers Association
- Are interested in representing the interests of all canola farmers in Manitoba
- Bring skills, experience, or perspectives that will strengthen board discussions
- Are able to commit the time required for meetings, preparation, and committee involvement
- Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, and sound judgment
- Prior governance experience is helpful but not required
Important Dates:

Applicants will be contacted with next steps by: February 9, 2026
Individual meetings will be set up week of February 16-20, 2026
Board will appoint a new director following all meetings.
