“MCGA’s scholarship program is one way we can support our members and give back to Manitoba farm families,” says Jason Kehler, MCGA Chair. “This year, we were pleased to expand the program from five scholarships to 10, allowing us to recognize more outstanding students as they pursue post-secondary education. Whether they are entering agriculture, health care, business or another field, we are proud to support these students as they take the next step in their education.”
MCGA’s scholarship program is open to graduating Manitoba high school students from farm families who live on, work for or have guardians who work for a farm that is a member of MCGA. Applications are reviewed by an independent panel based on academics, canola connection, school and community involvement, and an essay submission. MCGA recognizes that people from a wide range of professions contribute to the success of agriculture and welcomes applications from students pursuing any post-secondary program.
First launched in 2014, MCGA’s high school scholarship program has now awarded 65 students with $1,000 scholarships to support their post-secondary education.
