Manitoba Canola Growers Association (MCGA) is pleased to share that Jason Kehler has been acclaimed as the new Chair of the Board.
Jason farms with his family near Carman, Manitoba, where they run a mixed operation that includes grain, potatoes and cattle. Along with his on-farm experience, he’s been actively involved in industry leadership, including serving as a Regional Chair Representative with Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers Program and as MCGA’s representative on the Canadian Canola Growers Association board of directors. He brings a practical, well-rounded perspective to the role and a strong commitment to supporting fellow farmers.
“I’m honoured to take on this role and represent canola farmers across Manitoba,” said Kehler. “MCGA plays an important role in supporting research and agronomy, building demand for canola, and representing the Manitoba farm voice on key issues. I’m looking forward to working with the board to continue that work for our members.”
The rest of the Executive Committee remains unchanged, providing continuity as MCGA continues its work on behalf of farmers.
MCGA also extends its thanks to outgoing Chair Warren Ellis for his leadership over the past two years. Warren stepped down from the Executive to better manage his time commitments and will continue to serve on the Board as a Director. During his time as Chair, he brought a thoughtful and steady approach, with a strong focus on governance and clear policies.
